Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept foreign orders?

Yes.  We have sold soldiers to customers in England, Germany, France, Italy, Australia and Japan.  If ordering overseas, please send your order via email (do not order directly with PayPal buttons as the US shipping rate will be charged).  We will calculate the actual postage (USPS Air Parcel Post or Global Priority Mail) with insurance and send you a PayPal invoice via email for payment.  Other forms of payment may be considered but PayPal has been the easiest.  Checks on US banks also are accepted (with the usual delay for checks to clear).  We reserve the right to refuse any orders.

Can you tell me the details of your return policy?

If you are not happy with any merchandise for any reason return it undamaged within 14 days.  Return it by USPS Priority Mail insured.  You will receive a full refund, your only expense will be the cost of returning it.  We will cover the cost of shipping to you (unless special shipment was requested or shipment was to another country).  We want only happy customers!

Can I pay directly with a credit card?

No.  Unfortunately we do not accept credit cards directly.  We do accept PayPal for immediate payment on orders.  You can use credit cards to purchase through PayPal.

What is PayPal?

PayPal is a common form of secure payment for web auctions and merchandise purchased over the internet.  Clicking on the PayPal payment buttons will guide you through the process.  For more info go to www.paypal.com

What other forms of payment can I use?

Personal checks, money orders, cashiers check are all accepted.  We reserve the right to hold shipment until personal checks clear.

What does "sold out" mean on the "Sets Available" lists for some of the Edmund's Traditional Toy Soldier sets?

Ed produces a maximum of 100 copies of each set.  Once he sells the 100th set he will not make any more of that set.  If it is a regimental set he may make a new, different set and give it a different name, say Edition B.  For example, the 69th New York, an Irish unit is represented in kilts (Edition A) and in trews (Edition B).

Who is ACW Toy Soldiers?

It's a web company started in March 2000 by Jerry and my now 18 year old son, Sam.  It started as a result of our interest in Civil War history and toy soldiers.  It has also been a nice way to spend time together and meet other people with similar interests.  We love the Edmund's Traditional Toy Soldiers line of American Civil War regimental sets, which were the first soldiers we offered on this site and we have now sold hundreds of sets to collectors.  We have the largest inventory available anywhere as well as the largest collection of photographs of the sets on the web.  We now keep Edmund's complete American Civil War line in stock except for a few of the regimental bands.

We have since added Mike Allen Miniatures kits which are very skillfully crafted to portray individual leaders of the American Civil War.   We also carry three zouave sets by Red Coat Miniatures of Brazil.
