Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept foreign orders?

Yes.  We have sold soldiers to customers in Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, France, Germany,  Italy, Japan and Thailand.  PayPal is preferred for foreign orders, other forms of payment may be considered but PayPal has been the easiest.  Checks on US banks also are accepted (with the usual delay for checks to clear).  We reserve the right to refuse any orders.

Can you tell me the details of your return policy?

If you are not happy with any merchandise for any reason return it undamaged within 14 days.  Return it by USPS Priority Mail insured.  You will receive a full refund, your only expense will be the cost of returning it.  We will cover the cost of shipping to you (unless special shipment was requested or shipment was to another country).  We want only happy customers!

Can I pay directly with a credit card?

No.  Unfortunately we do not accept credit cards directly.  We do accept PayPal for immediate payment on orders.  You can use credit cards to purchase through PayPal if you have a PayPal account.

What is PayPal?

PayPal is a common form of secure payment for web auctions and merchandise purchased over the internet.  Clicking on the PayPal payment buttons will guide you through the process.  For more info go to www.paypal.com.  We have been selling via PayPal for over 10 years without any problems.

What other forms of payment can I use?

Personal checks, money orders, cashiers checks are accepted.  We will hold shipment until personal checks clear.

What does "sold out" mean on the "Sets Available" lists for some of the Edmund's Traditional Toy Soldier sets?

Ed produces a maximum of 100 copies of each set.  Once he sells the 100th set he will stop production of that set.  If it is a regimental set he may make a new, different set and give it a different name, say Edition B.  For example, the 69th New York, an Irish unit is represented in kilts (Edition A) and in trews (Edition B).

Who is ACW Toy Soldiers?

It's a web company started in March 2000 by my son and I.  It started as a result of our interest in Civil War history and toy soldiers.  It has also been a nice way to spend time together and meet other people with similar interests.  We love the Edmund's Traditional Toy Soldiers line of American Civil War regimental sets, which were the first soldiers we offered on this site and we have now sold hundreds of sets to collectors.  We have the largest inventory available anywhere as well as the largest collection of photographs of the sets on the web.  We now keep Edmund's complete American Civil War line in stock.  We do not keep multiple copies of most sets however, so some sets are indicated as on back order as our stock is being replenished.

We also carry Mike Allen Miniatures kits which are very skillfully crafted to portray individual leaders of the American Civil War.
